The third part of the Fundamentals level of the ACCA qualification is devoted to Financial Accounting. The ACCA F3 syllabus aims at acquiring profound skills in double-entry book-keeping, preparation of basic financial statements (balance sheets, etc.) and becoming a technically efficient accountant.
The main goal of the ACCA paper F3 is to teach ACCA students to do following:
- draw up financial statements and understand the principles and rules of financial statement drawing;
- know the principles of account preparation, including final accounts for business partners.
The ACCA paper F3 consists of 50 questions, which are compulsory to be answered. The pass degree of the examination paper is 50% of correctly answered questions. As usual, this ACCA F3 examination is either paper based or computer based, so it requires certain IT skills and knowledge to be able to handle it.
The ACCA F3 is the third step in the four-step process for acquiring the Diploma in Accounting and Business and the F3 guide will definitely tell you how to pass ACCA F3 exam successfully. This section is the last in the Knowledge module, which is followed by the Skills module. The later will provide a deeper view at technical accounting.
The ACCA F3 syllabus zeroes in on the following issues:
- financial reporting: its purposes and context;
- peculiarities of handling the financial information;
- learning the principles of double-entry accountancy and other accounting systems;
- reporting and keeping record of current accounting activities;
- preparing and consolidating of financial statements.
