This is the last part of the ACCA Skills module and Fundamentals level simultaneously. Further ACCA syllabuses will be considered at the Professional level. Now you are required to show your degree of knowledge concerning the analysis and application of materials under study. The ACCA F9 syllabus is called Financial Management and is aimed at developing your skills as a financial manager. You are expected to possess certain degree of experience in the fields of financing, investments and dealing with stakeholders and dividends.
This year the ACCA paper F9 for 2011 is slightly changed as well as other ACCA qualification papers. Unlike other syllabuses, Financial Management wasn’t reduced, i.e. nothing was deleted from the syllabus, but another study field was added. This is “Concepts of Islamic Finance”. It happened because the ACCA F9 course is constantly updated and is designed to correspond to contemporary employers’ requirements.
The ACCA F9 Financial Management includes in-depth study of eight major financial management topics:
- A – the function of financial management in general;
- B – financial management in the economic environment;
- C – discussion of working capital management techniques;
- D – carrying out management appraisal;
- E – identification and implementation of alternative financial sources;
- F – calculation of the capital and all factors which influence it;
- G – principles of business and asset valuations;
- H – risk management techniques application.
The ACCA paper F9 consists of 100% compulsory questions, which require attention, profound knowledge in the financial management field, methodological approach to solving tasks and special examination techniques. They can be provided both by approved learning partners and ACCA F9 examiners, who are likely to share their experience and opinions. These can be found on the corresponding websites, which provide ACCA qualification materials for studying. They include interviews, reports and technical articles, written by specialists in the ACCA F9 Financial Management.
